Schools in the Burbank and Glendale areas hold to a no-lice policy rather than the previously enforced no-nit policy.

Schools in the Agoura Hills, Calabasas, and Malibu areas no longer adhere to strict no-nit policies, but if live lice are present students will not be allowed to attend classes.

It can be challenging to determine what course of action is required if your child develops a case of head lice, so it is always prudent to check with the health management team at your child’s school. Schools in the Longmont area may not adhere to a strict no-nit policy.

Schools in Aurora and the surrounding communities do not enforce a strict no-nit policy.

Schools in Walnut Creek do not hold to a “no-nit” policy, while nearby Concord and Pleasant Hill in the Mount Diablo school district do.

Schools in the region of Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades follow the policies recommended by the CDC, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the California Association of School Nurses and do not hold to strict no-nit policies
