While each school district determines its own head lice policy, schools in Hicksville and Jericho do not maintain “no nit” policies. This means that students who still have remnants of eggs in their hair may return to school.

Brookhaven Schools retain “No Nit” policies and will not allow students with nits (lice eggs) to attend class until all nits and lice are gone.
Hinsdale, Western Springs and Westmont School Head Lice Policies
Schools in Hinsdale, Western Springs and Westmont no longer hold to strict “no nit” head lice policies.
Bolingbrook and Oak Lawn School Head Lice Policies
Bolingbrook Schools are in alignment with current practices advised by the CDC and NASN, while Oak Lawn schools retain “no nit” policies at this time.
Lake Oswego and Happy Valley School Head Lice Policies
Schools in Oregon, including Lake Oswego and Happy Valley have “no live lice” policies instead of “no nit” policies.
