Conflicting information abounds on the internet regarding lice treatments today – especially with the emergence of “super lice”. It’s a fact that chemical over-the-counter and prescription treatments are losing their effectiveness. Not to mention, killing the bugs is just the start. You still have to address removal of all of the nits (lice eggs) to ensure an infestation is gone. There are no chemical lice treatments that will penetrate the shell of the nit, so you must manually remove them. LiceDoctors protocol is all natural, non-toxic, and kills even stubborn “super lice”. Your technician also has the skills and determination to ensure all signs of a case of lice are gone when she leaves your home.
Don’t waste valuable family time treating lice with something that may or may not be successful. Call LiceDoctors at 423-521-1005 for affordable treatment that is covered by most FSA and HSAs and some insurance. Minimize the impact a lice infestation can have on your quality of life. Technicians are available and ready to help your family any day of the year, evenings and weekends included!

City FAQs
Can I get my hair cut at a salon in Chattanooga, TN if I have lice?
No. It is a health code violation for a stylist to provide services to you if you have head lice. Avoid this awkward situation and having to re-schedule your appointment – call LiceDoctors for your in-home treatment. You will be confident getting your hair done as soon as your technician completes the treatment.
Are lice eggs (nits) contagious?
Lice eggs are not contagious. They are glued directly onto a hair strand and do not fall off. If a strand of hair falls off with a nit attached to it and it happens* to hatch, it will die. The nymph (inside the egg) would need the warm environment of the head to survive and a scalp for it to feed off of. Nits, however, do need to be removed from the hair to avoid re-infestation. If a nit hatches on the hair, after 7 days it can begin to lay its own eggs, starting an infestation all over again.
Do lice like dirty or clean hair?
Lice like hair. Any hair. They need it to survive – they lay their eggs on the hair strands. It is easier for them to latch onto clean hair. Imagine climbing up a pole – a squeaky clean pole is easier to get a grip on and climb up. If there is dirt or water on the pole, it is more difficult to get a grip. We recommend LiceDoctors Mint Repellent spray https://www.licedoctors.com/best-lice-treatment-products/lice-repellent-spray as a preventative. Lice are repelled by mint and the spray adds an artificial layer of product on the hair which makes it more difficult for the lice to grab on.
