LiceDoctors knows that life doesn’t stop when you get a case of lice. You still have work, friends, and family obligations. Some are non-negotiable.... you have to be there and you can not show up with head lice. Lice tech, Sean, made a middle of the night visit to a duo who had to be in a wedding party in 6 hours. Here Sean tells the story:

It was about 2:00 a.m. on a Friday night (Saturday morning!) and I was dead asleep.

My LiceDoctors dispatcher called and told me that a very desperate woman was looking for lice treatment immediately for her daughter and herself.  I got dressed and drove to the client’s house and saw right away that I had my work cut out for me.  Both the mom and daughter had very long, very curly hair.  When I checked them, I realized they both had very severe cases......and then the mom broke the news to me: that they had to leave in 4 hours to drive 2 hours to be in a wedding.  I immediately called in backup.

My co-worker helped by combing out the mom so I could concentrate on the daughter’s hair.

Head lice on wedding day

During our chit chat, the mom shared that they had been battling this for approximately 8 months, so you can imagine the severity of the case. We worked very diligently applying oil, combing, washing the hair, and handpicking remaining nits (lice eggs) from the hair. We were racing against the clock but this mom and daughter were very cooperative and wanted so badly to honor their roles in the wedding party.

With just about an hour to spare, we managed to get them all clear of live lice, as well as nits.  I got the satisfaction of knowing that I had saved a wedding: the flower girl and a maid of honor would be in the wedding after all!

Now, while technicians from LiceDoctors don’t typically go on calls that late at night, we are very dedicated as technicians and will do what is needed to save the day.  I was happy to know that I gave a present to the bride and groom even if they didn’t know it.  Come to think of it, I gave them two gifts: the flower girl and maid of honor for one and also, no one at the wedding would get head lice (at least not from them!).

LiceDoctors goes the extra distance to ensure that your lice needs are attended to. We understand how uncomfortable people are when discovering head lice and because the lice can be hard to find on the head, folks often become desperate to get rid of them. LiceDoctors technicians are here for you when you need us. Call today (hopefully before 2 am!) and we will have a dedicated technician to your home to provide you with all-natural lice treatment. The number to call is 503-715-1726 , day or night!
